David joined Castle Law as counsel in January 2019, having spent over 35 years as a partner of McCarthy Tetrault, where he held a number of roles, including, at various times, leader of its national business law group and M&A practice and the head of its US markets practice, and where he acted for many of the firm’s largest clients.

David is recognized as a leading lawyer in Canada for corporate law, particularly in the area of mergers and acquisitions and raising public capital. A former lecturer at Osgoode Hall Law School, David serves or has served on the boards of several private and public corporations, charities and not-for-profit companies.
